Hey y’all! I’m Kate and welcome to my crazy life. I am a single mom to a wild three year old named Max however, that’s all about to change! I met the love of my life, Kyle, and we got engaged on Christmas Eve! Our family is complete and my heart is so incredibly full. We just moved to Charlottesville, VA from Atlanta, GA and are so excited for this adventure!
Believe it or not, I had no intention of becoming a “blogger” or “influencer”. When I was pregnant with Max in 2017 I had a friend working for Spanx. She sent me Sara Blakely’s coffee table book and painting kit for her project, The Belly Art Project. The project was meant to empower pregnant women and showing the beauty of your growing belly by painting something on it! Most people painted classical artwork, or disco balls, or fun colorful pieces - Not me, I painted the Starbucks logo on my belly! I had so much fun with it and was able to show one of my tru loves that I really missed while being pregnant! Well, the photos went viral and I ended up being published in major magazines and publications across the world. I had two choices - I could take this new found “fame” and enjoy it for a couple of weeks or I could take it and do something good with it.
When I first found out I was pregnant I was alone and so scared. I was terrified. My sons dad didn’t want anything to do with us and that to me was terrifying. I had lost the man I thought I loved and was now facing the scariest thing I had faced in my 21 years of living. I searched the internet high and low for bloggers and women that I could look up to that were single moms but I found none. I felt so alone and honestly embarrassed that I couldn’t find anyone to look up to or relate with. That’s when I realized this was what the “fame” was for.
I took this platform and made it a place for other young moms, single moms, moms dealing with divorce, and women going through bad breakups to feel safe. To feel valued. To know that they had someone to relate to, to look up to - with some fashion, beauty and lifestyle fun thrown in too!
I never want any woman to feel like I did. I don’t want anyone else feeling alone and scared like I did. I hope to be a safe place for others who may need help or just a friend to listen and relate to.
Almost four years later and Max and I have met the man of our dreams, Max’s dad and I successfully (for the most part lol) coparent, I have an amazing job and we are so incredibly happy and #blessed! My fiancé Kyle is the most amazing man I have ever met and we are getting married in February of 2021! We met in Atlanta, GA and recently moved to Charlottesville, VA for my fiancé’s new job and to set roots for our family. We are so happy to have you here and that you are now (and forever) part of our family!
As always, remember “You’re not a mess. You’re brave for trying.”
