“Mom Clothes”

Let me start by saying that I am so #BLESSED to be pregnant in the winter! As long as I can remember I have wanted to be a mom but one thing I definitely didn’t want to do was dress like one! I told my friends I was never buying maternity clothes throughout my pregnancy and I have stayed pretty true to that {besides the necessary maternity jeans}! One thing I have found throughout my entire pregnancy is that there are not enough places that sell cute clothes for pregnant women in stores!

But fear not future Momma’s!!! I have done the research for you! Here are some of my favorite places to shop and tips on how to stay buy clothes for everyday and photo fun and surprise…. most of them aren’t for pregnant women {bless you, oversized sweaters} ๐Ÿ’•

Tip #1: embrace the tent dresses… so many boutiques and stores carry these ADORABLE dresses! While, later on in your pregnancy it’s cute to wear the tightย dresses and show off the bump… in the beginning it can look like you just at too much Chipotle. Embrace the shift dress and choose when to show off your precious baby bump!

Tip #2: Spend wisely…

I know my friends reading this are dying laughing at the thought of me bargain shopping but hey, #momlife has made me a changed woman! I got this adorable dress from Old Navy for $20 and have worn it for every dollar spent! When shopping for maternity clothes {especially dresses and shirts} look for that high waistline. The waistline accentuates the belly when needing to pose for a pic and is loose and comfortable on the belly when moving around.

Tip #3 Invest in the maternity staples…

Tank tops, jeans, and a jacket. The three things I truly believe you should spend the extra money on if trying to buy maternity clothes! Every woman knows how important the perfect pair of jeans are but with a baby on the way that matter that much more! Make sure you get jeans with a cotton waistband to not irritate your ,already itchy, belly!

Tip #4: Find maternity brands you love and stick with them!

Once you find a brand you love stick with them! How could you ever go wrong with a company you know you already love and trust! Both of the products I am wearing above are from my two favorite brands and I not only love them because their stuff is ADORABLE…. I mean come on look at it.. but I also love them because I know I can trust their company and quality!

Tip #5: Flannels and big sweaters

Every girl loves a chunky sweater but ever momma appreciates them! One of the best parts about being pregnant in the winter (I don’t know how you summer pregnancy Momma’s do it) is the fact that oversized is IN! I used to hate wearing big baggy clothes but now that it’s trendy and I am pregnant… I have never been so thankful. Grab yourself a big sweater, bundle up by a bonfire, or if you live in the south blast your AC, and get cozy!

Happy shopping Momma’s! ๐Ÿ’•
